Ghetto & Nerdy Partners: a match made in heaven--not!
You might be the "square," "nerd" or lesser of the two evils in a relationship, but then again maybe you are the ghetto one, you know the type that is ready to pop off on someone and brag about how you knocked a fool out back in the day. Some of you know what I'm talking about! Well whatever group you might fit in or not, the ghetto and nerd relationship is among us. They are married, engaged, or just taking each day one at a time. He seems to be the nice guy and she is loud. He tries to make peace, she wants to make war. Sometimes both act hood! But why are they significant in our society? They aren't really, just giving you something to think about. I mean the nerd can't do but so much with a loud mouth in his camp. The ghetto can only go so far, before the nerd uses some kind of mental tactic to call the wild woman or man back at home. Neither truly is happy, because they are always trying to find a way to fulfill one's selfish needs with little or no protest while secretly wishing they had made better decisions in choosing a partner every now and again especially when one or both doesn't get his or her way.
I was thinking of this odd romance since I have been on both sides--ghetto and nerdy. For me, I have a history of relationships like this not lasting. Whether he is too boring or too crazy, it's been difficult over the years to find that balance. But what I know for certain as I grow older, I'm tired of ghetto justifying his or her obnoxious behavior. "Calm down!" I said once to a relative. Why did I do that? "What do you mean calm down? I'm alright..." Meanwhile, nose is flaring, eyes is rolling and heavy breathing is apparent. "I mean really, what is the purpose? Let it go." Now Ms. Thang or "I got this" brotha wants to front on me. Acting immature trying to check someone. Seriously, we don't want to go there, I'm thinking I can do a two-step with you. But then I do the mature thing, "I think it would be best for me to leave...you see I don't want to be going to God repenting for my sins today then turning around and one day asking you for forgiveness--don't think so. Bye."
As much as I would like to side with the hood brotha or hood sista who is going through some things because maybe the family doesn't like her or want to be bothered with him, I have to ask, "Why involve yourself with all the drama? Why be so mismatched in a relationship that it causes you nothing but grief?" Nine times out of ten the nerdy brotha's family warned him about his loud mouth woman. They most likely said, "You got trouble with that one!" But did he listen? Now he looks back on his life decisions, asking, "Why didn't I listen?" But wild woman isn't bothered, because she has something to gain. She can brag about her smart man and how much money he has to all her family and friends as if that is going to suffocate the hood in her!
One thing about dealing with some folks who bleed ghetto, they never change. They take ghetto to the five star restaurant to the mom's house and anywhere else! They refuse to see the error of their ways. They blame everyone else for setting them off. They are far too emotional for their own good! Then the nerdy woman or man wants to come to the rescue with all his or her logic, reasoning and counsel. Save all that! You got hood, deal with it or get out--just that simple.

Next Step After High School? Some Alternatives to College
Media manipulation played a part in putting millions of people in debt for life simply by telling everyone they need to go to college. Therefore, you have parents pressuring their sons and daughters to make the family look good and so-called help yourself by attending college. But is spending thousands of dollars of borrowed money really helping? There are far too many stories of college graduates working at companies that they are actually over qualified to work in, but they have to settle don't they? Think before you stress college education to someone who simply can't afford to go to school unless you plan on helping the young person pay for college.

Just some food for thought for my visitors, welcome.
This video link presents good information about how we are quick to react to these manipulative news stories without using discernment. Ask yourself, "Why are they telling me this? What's the purpose? Is what I am watching/reading really the truth, exaggeration or lies?

Georgia College Grants: Free School Grants for Students in GA
Georgia isn't the only state with money for students graduating from high school. But there are plenty more, just visit the site below and look up your state.
Georgia College Grants: Free School Grants for Students in GA
When researching information when it comes to getting loans, grants and other information regarding education, always be sure that you are conducting searches that will lead you to what you want. It is very easy to get on the Internet and look at everything but what you really need. So do the following:
Ask yourself, "What are the advantages that my son or daughter have that would help her qualify for a loan or grant?" Use search terms like: "minority" "women" and always include educational loan or grant. Also, supply information about the state, city or county and find out what educational grants or loans are offered. Think about those civic groups and associations locally as well. Do they offer any assistance to high school graduates? Keep in mind that many programs will want to know the GPA of your college bound student.
Hope this tad bit of information helps some of you with high school graduates!
Be blessed, not stressed today in Jesus name! So many parents are angered about their sons or daughters acting like they aren't that interested in higher education. Did you even bother to consider the alternatives? From taking classes at a community college to a business school, there are ways to survive in this world without a college degree. Besides, who's future is it anyway--yours or your son or daughter's? Sometimes we put so much pressure on others that we fail to stop and think for a moment that just maybe we are passionate about one's future more so because we have unmet personal desires. If your desire is simply to get your child out of your hair, maybe you should be encouraging a job; rather than higher education, because chances are you will have to hold your son or daughter's hand financially and physically the next 4 to 6 years whether you believe it or not. Here are some ways that both parent and son or daughter can make money to finance education:

When Insiders Expose the Ugly Side of the Entertainment Industry | The Vigilant Citizen
I thought I would draw your attention to a site that I have been reading for some time now. The researcher provides some thought-provoking commentary and some helpful information to keep you on your toes. Seriously, anyone with a little bit of common sense needs to stop encouraging children and young adults to be the next great, wonderful entertainer who eventually sells his or her soul to the devil. Would you feed poison to a child? Well that's what we do when we tell them from young ages to: "dance for me...show daddy how to do that...look at my baby get it...my son is going to be up on the screen like Denzel...my daughter is going to be the next Halle! My cousin is going to one day get a record deal like Whitney!" Do you have a clue what these people and others have had to go through to get to where they are today? If only entertainers would come on out and start telling people the truth. But of course, someone might have to silence them, now wouldn't they?
