Black Love: Love You, Love Me

Love you
be content with all you do.
See the good in you,
be true!

Love me,
love you,
do you?
This is all I want for you!

If you are content with yourself,
enjoy being yourself,
then less problems for me,
you see?

Love my black man, woman
glad to have my skin tan.
Enjoy receiving love
from above.
Knowing when to give,
and when to shove.

Push away blues,
and people who use, abuse
and choose
to be something
they weren't never meant to be.

Forgot to look in the mirror and say,
"Love me" today, so I pray.
Hoping that the Divine One
will show me the way!

Bad stuff will always be around,
but you don't have to get down.
See the love in your own hometown!

Between the cries, lies, and sighs,
there is no love that dies, it thrives!

Love found me, I didn't chase it.
Love rescued me when I didn't want it.
Some just sit, throw fits, won't commit.

Still angry about the past,
cursing a future saying, "It won't last."
Some moving way, way too fast!

Love starts with loving you,
then loving me,
remember, love is free!
Then see your future,
for what it could be.

Have Never Been in Love with My Lovers' Minds

Demonic Opposition

What happened
soulful, real
love light?

Prayed with all one's might.
Spiritual, unique
a mystic.

Coveted by others,
beautiful women,
handsome brothers.

What went wrong?
The joy drained from song.

Messengers of a Creator
gave people hope.
Ancestors hung from a rope.

A people didn't realize their power,
no reverence for a holy rain shower.
Today, walking in the last hour.

Rebels, liars,
connivers,
buyers
into foolishness,
traded happiness,
lost contentment.

Angry at what use-to-be,
can't see,
blind,
no time to teach,
don't want to preach.

Walking dead,
respect to a dark god
for monies gained.

What is up with the show?
Pretend to care,
but glare.

Always got a plan,
but don't take any stand.

Fearful of what others will do,
if stray out the box
and threaten to sue.

Brainwashed to attack those in light,
always looking to fight.

Watch everything in sight,
wondering, "What's on tonight?"

Enslaved by a modern day slave master,
who wants his slaves to work faster.

Turning brother against sister
to raise an IQ
mixed races of more than a few.

Lost soul in a dark hole,
played with spirits of ole'.

Don't know what to do,
when they come for you.

Demonic opposition,
proposition,
compromise,
believe the lie.

Bad, Black Attitude

Said there was something wrong with us--
got off the black bus.

Nasty attitude,
this man can be so rude!

Critical of others,
hanging out with frat brothers.

Smiles on their faces,
shares their disgraces,
frequents white places.

He curses when he's mad,
his children look so sad,
he runs around in the latest fad.

Bad, black attitude,
what's up with this angry dude?
Took after his mother,
puts on a show for Big Brother.

Know what I know,
because I peeped his show.
Try to go toe to toe,
looked like a brotha on the down low!

I wish I could speak positively,
but what comes out is negativity.

Bad, black attitude don't get you very far,
you can't be a star,
people don't want you in their car.

If I told him once, I told him twice,
you have to be nice,
to get cheese from the mice.

There Must Be Something Special About You

Up today,
down tomorrow.
A world with so much sorrow,
but it doesn't touch me,
because I have two eyes, and I can see!

Listened to a brown bird tweet His song,
uplifted me when I was wrong.
Moved me to do what's right,
now all I have is you in my sight.

You see there is something special about you.
You know how to do you.
When you settled in God's holy place, He saw your face.
Dried up tears and took away your fears!

The world is mad, attempts to make you sad.
But you have every reason to be glad.

Know there is something unique about you,
haters don't like what you do, don't want you to be true!

But what they don't know, I know.
You have a single foe,
yet he comes in many forms,
eats up the flesh like worms.

The dark god takes people and throws them out,
quiets their mouths, so they don't shout.

Jealous spirit doesn't want you speaking good of others,
he doesn't want you uplifting any brothers.

Uses you to sow bad seed,
recruits you to take the lead

Enemies see what we don't see in us,
watches us like people waiting for the bus.

Studies our every move, then acts as if
he's a player that can soothe.

I figured it out one day, when I
trusted God to reveal Satan's play.

If you don't know who you are,
then you don't go far
ain't no sense in wishing upon any star!

Big names born into favor,
they savor what they don't understand,
touched by the devil's man.

But know that there is something special about you,
there are many called, but God's chosen are few.

Poem - Don't Want to Think About It

Don't want to think
about what was
and what could be.
My heart is crying to be free.

Don't want to know what
my One really thinks about me,
cause I opened my eyes and now I see.

I have been down this path before
tired eyes and a body sore.

Thought this one would be different,
using Saint Valentine,
me, indifferent.

You see, this person I know,
went through alot.
Tempted parent's to pick a gravesite plot.

Old friends took the time to pray,
planned for a wedding day.
Yet, things aren't okay.

Blinded by something called lust,
now on this trip called, "Must."
"I must do this and I must do that,"
but The One just sat.

Wasn't ready to wear a bright, gold ring,
no matter how loud the choir would sing.
There was no longer that tingling.

Not everyone is what they seem,
rarely do they appear like you dream.

Everyday relationships keep moving ahead,
hope that old feelings come back
after a roll in a bed.

No longer willing to fight,
when one sees everything in sight.
Wondering who, what and when,
fighting the temptation to sin.

Real people share real talk,
they start saying less,
then they're ready to walk.

When this day of love passes,
we will see about those critical masses,
will they still be in love on cue,
or will they be ready to sue?

Poem: I'm Not Going to Tell You that I Like You

I'm not going to tell you that I like you when I don't.
Some blacks like to talk loud, they flaunt.

I'm not going to say that I will pray, when I won't.
Some blacks like to cry, lie and taunt.

You see, if you were me, and I were you,
you would be saying, "Don't do...don't do."

But sometimes the more you hold back,
the more you lack.
Maybe that's why I have yet to get my stack.

I saw a half moon one day,
told myself, "Half crazy today."

Out of my mind for settling down with fools,
don't look beyond what was taught in schools.

I tried real hard to like so many people I met,
but then I couldn't keep still, started to fret.

Silly conversation doesn't hold my attention for long,
I start listening to what's in my mind, a song.

Found many ways to push back the noise,
learned a few things from my little boys.

When they don't like you, they don't know you.
When they don't want to hear,
they ignore without fear.

They go about their days, stay happy and nappy.
Don't worry about grandmama or pappy.

They don't tell you they like you,
when they know they don't,
and they give no promises,
because they know they won't.

Poem: My World is Changing

I found love when I met my man--
knew he was the one worthy of my hand.
It sounds real good, at least in the beginning,
but then we had to think about all that sinning.

Thought I had it all figured it out,
but then I heard myself cry and shout.

Listened to what others said about me,
their tips were really not helpful to me.

Tried to control my inner thoughts
saw a woman with a little klout.

But plans backfired, and God was tired--
they couldn't use me for their foolish stuff.

You see every system isn't what it appears to be,
there are eyes that are watching you and me.

They think they know, saw me on a show
now they want to talk to So and So.

She might have potential, she might be the one,
but they forgot about The One with The Son.

I get my orders from the Holy Him and he tells me
what he thinks of them.

Nicholl McGuire

Poem: He is No god

Doesn't matter what God, whose God...
hypocrite--
always has something to spout off!
Knows that his advice just doesn't suffice.
'Cause he's not living what he claims,
too busy chasing a tidbit of fame.
Got women here and there,
likes to swear,
dreads his hair,
and has long underarm hair.

Puts down people who he thinks doesn't represent
believes he is a messenger sent
to free people who are already free
but his limited view that's all he can see!

Got news for this foolish brother,
who likes to call older women his mother,
that he is just like all the rest,
half-steps when he can do his best!

Put down the smoke,
cause it's making you choke.
Burned up brain cells,
end up back in jails.

Recruiting people to lead
when all they do is follow
and smiles at white women who like to swallow.

There is no black cause with this man
especially when he loves women who tan.

No freedom, no peace,
he struggles to keep his lease.
Then looks for his fans to pay his bills,
always telling those who don't agree to, "Chill..."

The truth hurts and he definitely knows it--
likes to take all his money and blow it!

One day soon, his world will be crashing down,
a turned up face, wearing a frown.

Poem: Sagging Pants

Life low
mood low
pants sit low.

He restricts his walk.
Can't get far.
His behind, a set back.
He bends over, we see his butt crack.

He smells, emanating an odor from hell!
A hole unlike a wishing well.
The mind doesn't ring a bell.

Inability to reason,
sag pants not in season.

Won't tell himself that he needs to stop,
don't mind the attention from a cop.

Makes excuses for why he shows his butt,
advertises that his spirit is in a rut.

Someone please pray for the man child,
he is playing a bad game, he's fouled.

Don't understand the history behind the sag,
don't mind being called "a fag."

Wraps his arm around his brother,
shows his butt in front of his mother.

No father in sight, no wisdom to give light.
Discerning adults need to show him the way, turn his dark into day.

Your View

Here's what I know about you, your view.
You believe one should sue, as long as it ain't you!

You believe that life is filled with trials,
but don't bother to talk about your miles.

You say that you love all people,
but act funny under the steeple.

You claim that you're so blessed,
but "the real" is you're stressed.

See, I know how it goes,
when one has plenty of foes.

You try to make sense,
but "The Ignorant" are dense.

Can't see a system of folly,
rather walk around, act jolly.

Don't know what they really want,
watch others, then taunt.

You see, I realized not everyone is going to like me,
because they can't get pass what they see.

People like to tell a bad story,
while giving self--the glory.

"I'm better than you...
so glad I didn't do..."

But seriously, look at you?
What is really your view?

Did someone tell you what to say,
what exactly did you pray?

Did the TV tell you what to eat,
and where to place your feet?

Did the sign tell you what you ought,
so off you went, you sought?

Church-goers want more of someone called, "You."
But they don't often listen or do.

So I have to ask, what is your view?

Hung Up on White Being Right

So hung up on white being right
I had to hang up on him tonight.

Look, I can't listen to silly, ignorance
a man lacking in common sense!

So what a man is white, doesn't mean he is right.
I guess brother man was looking for a fight!

Everything in his mind, his insight,
always has something to do with white!

White with black
He preaches, "...Tiger ain't back!"

Black with white
He preaches, "...That ain't right!"

Always got a fight, but money stay tight.
Keep talking, while people walking,
sometimes looking like he stalking.

He says, "I know So and So and I could help you grow."
Sit back and watch.  He says stuff for show.

Overlooks the fact that black don't have his back,
believes that white is always counting a stack.

He helped create The White Flight
standing on the street always in sight.

Blames The Man and the one in sand,
yet he will volunteer for the media band.
He helps perpetuate stories and stuff,
then talks like he is rough and tough.

Won't bother to look beyond his own view
and talks about, "The Jew, the Jew."

If he bothered to study--go real deep,
he would find that there is more to seep.

God's people aren't really God's people
and many could care less about the steeple.

Blue bloods, red bloods wear the same color,
many have connections to the Queen Mother.

Black and white, rich and poor,
both play on the same checkered floor.

Watch a movie, worship a star,
no time to go in life real far.

Play a game, buy a toy
keep him acting like a boy.

It isn't all white, that is doing something right,
and it isn't all black who moves to the back.

But fools don't spend much time in school,
his mindset no better than a mule!

Friday

Who or What Have We Become?

Dancin', singin', playin', hollerin'
wild, crazy, unique, a lady?

Dribblin', jumpin', dry humpin',
confused, who is this?  A man child, a baby?

Been cryin' broke for years.
Keep runnin' away from fears!
Tired of car note, rent, gas, lights...
Man, I'm just wonderin', is my future, bright?

I'm all over the place today,
got the courage to pray,
even if I didn't know what to say.

Should have saw it comin'!
There it was, a jury summons.
Called into court for testin',
I ain't that one for confessin'.

An enemy bit me a long time ago,
so my answer is, "I don't know, is it time to go?"

Look, I see things that others don't see.
I recognize the evil within me.
It takes one to know one.
A battle lost, a battle won.
Who or what have we really become?

There was that child who looked like you,
tried to do all he could to act like you.
Then there was his friend, who walked in sin,
decided one day to hit him in the shin.

This is how fools act in real life,
start with us, create some strife.
They may look like us,
ride the long bus,
pop some gum and start to cuss.

Try to speak some truth, and expose some lies.
But they huff and puff and roll some eyes.

More interested in that big booty shakin'
and feeling good off some baby makin'.

Always happy when they get some money,
then when it's spent hold back the honey.

Listen up and listen real good!
I know you wish that someone would...
but before we get all angry and stuff,
and vow to make someone's life real rough,
may I bring to you just a little news,
and open your eyes to those that abuse?

There is a game many play
and it's called, "He say, She say...
and Do What I Say!"

Control you, control others,
then go around and put down the brothers!

Create a war between friends
and then take them for their few ends!

Bring pain upon those cryin', insane!
Quiet their mouths and tell them, "Stay in your lane!"

Move on men who like to preach,
give them a paper and tell them to teach.
"Say what we tell you and don't deviate from the script,
do real well and we will give you a gift."

If you don't know the meaning behind "The Man,"
then put your head down, put it in some sand!

Cause people are showing you there is more to this life,
and it's not about reality fake show strife!

Look at those around you and what do you see?
A man, a boy, and a half naked B?
Or do you see human love, innocent and peaceful like that of a dove?

No time to build or cultivate,
ideas get put off, they incubate.

Got more time for those who sign a check,
less time for those headed for a train wreck.

Will suffer when the devils catch up,
will cry and wish for God to take your cup!

But personal griefs will come until you are done!

While the world keeps shakin' and baby makin'
men will lie and compromise.

While the world keeps cryin' and many keep dyin'
fathers will run from their sons,
tradin' their lives for a little fun.

While the world keeps movin' and promisin' to soothe,
daughters will find someone that will use and abuse.

While the world keeps robbin' and mommas keep sobbin',
there will be those that will continue to expose...

skin, men, women, and biblical sin
which group will you be in?

Poem - Daddy Issues, Mama Drama

Daddy Issues, Mama Drama

For years, sat back
wondered why a brotha didn't have my back.
Son angry with his mom.
What did she do wrong?

Did she not value her self--
put morals on the shelf?
Slept with his dad.
Then he left her sad?

Baby came to be
with eyes like he.

So what does young boy do?,
A dream he wants to pursue.
Wishes for his dad,
but grows up and becomes mad.

So he take it out on me
as far as I can see.
I got tired of that same song,
keep treating me wrong.

Look, I know you wish for dad,
but brotha you don't want to make me mad!

For I know what it feels like
when you want him in your life.

For dads busy, greedy, watching TV.
That's how they be!
For dads do what they want to do WITHOUT YOU!

But check your stress,
don't bring me into your mess!

I got a lot to do for myself,
learn to put daddy on a shelf.

Be the man that you were destined to be,
be so much better than he!!

Make peace with the first lady,
Make peace with the mother of your baby.

Poem: Educated Black Step Back!

Went to school
broke a rule,
learned to imitate his white brother
now he knows how to play N.Y. undercover.

While observing his people,
thinks up a plan to keep them sheeple.
Hoping they will react,
so that he can make an impact.
Educated black, please step back!

Robbing folks blind,
while kissing his white brother's behin'
says he's helping his people
stands below the church steeple.

Ignorant people have been lied to for so long,
stopped knowing the difference between right and wrong.
Leaders keep selling their people the same, sad song.

"Unite, uplift, represent, repent!"
Claims they are the messengers God sent.
But wise people know better,
they too read God's love letter.

From the church to the board room,
meetings that ultimately bring doom.
Itchy ears wish for progress,
while groups work to oppress.

Stand on the shoulders of the old,
flash hand signs for gold.
The ignorant, the poor
seem to always fall for the lure.

Created a new walk,
learned a different talk.
There goes that educated black,
please step back!

Thought you could be the very best
'cause you passed test after test.
But what you didn't realize,
that the system is made up of one big lie--
using you until you die.

Claim you already know about the show,
but keep watching things you don't know.
Claim you are ahead of the pact,
educated black, please step back!

When you discover the truth,
you want to play detective sleuth.
So you go back to read,
try to plant a new seed.
But how can you,
when one keeps thinking like them,
when the enlightened lamp grows dim?

Believe what you want today,
forget about the past keep telling folks to pray.
Even God don't like you jumping in and out of the word,
then flushing it all down like one big turd!

Educated black keeps recruiting for this and that--
Trying to maintain his powerless seating,
always want somebody to go to some meeting.
Still trying to earn the love, money and power,
believing in a god who will be dead in the final hour.

Determined to be one of them whose down,
playing another life underground.
Ignoring all constructive advice,
has a blueprint for a new vice.
Testing crazy stuff on your people,
so that they will remain crying sheeple.

Educated black, please step back!
Been nothing more than a tack.
They've been using you to decorate their walls,
then raping you in bathroom stalls.

You don't really know how to compete,
keep sacrificing blood to maintain your seat.
Twisting words all the time to win,
selling out your favorite kin.

They don't teach you love in the school,
Train you to abide by a rule.
Don't complain or get upset,
your future has already been set.

Educated black, please step back,
knowledge of your roots you do lack.
Educate black, please step back,
too busy running, always acting funny.
Educated black, please step back,
because I know you, and you know me
I use to be a victim on your family tree.

Poem: If He Brings Me A Lie...

Didn't want to hear the truth
tried to look the other way
had the "oh here she go" look on his face.

His Lord once sat on the throne
now he's at his feet.
Didn't want me to question his place, his faith.

Brotha been listening to voices too long in his head
they always crying the blues
while bragging about being their own gods.

Who was I,
to bring the light
to shine it on dark shadows?

His brain
washed
calling me a bitch.
His brain washed
thinking all black females like to do is argue.

Was I yelling when I brought the truth?
Did I hold my head to the side,
snap my fingers,
and cuss him out?

Black man so confused!
He don't know the difference anymore
between talking and yelling.

Brain
washed
to believe we all the same.

He thinks everyone
trying to make his life difficult.
Blames everyone
for mistakes he made.

A dark brotha
with a dark agenda
living on the dark side.

A family man who sold out a long time ago,
used to hide behind the light of "the real."
They knew he was trying too hard to fit in
that's why they let him go.

That son of a teacher ain't been praying heartfelt prayers lately.
His seat in the church collecting dust
like that big, brown book he once carried.

Spitting out past glory stories to anyone who will listen.
Leaving out the details while smiling, frowning, smiling
and frowning from one moment to the next--
Ole crazy negro!

Trying to make me believe in him.
He always lying--little ones, big ones.
You got to watch him.
Inviting folks into his circle of liars,
most not interested.
"but they got money...they'll help you..."
Caught lying again.
