Mistreating Black Men Doesn't Make Them Less Human It Only Makes Them Stronger
Tell a black man not to date outside of his race, be good to his black woman or else, cheat on him, marry then divorce him, fire him, curse at him, lie on him, push him, scream at him, scar him or shoot him down and you do nothing more than win sympathy for him!
Anyone with a little bit of love, compassion, and care for another human being, will run to that person and ask him, "Do you need my help? I will love you...don't worry we will win this war together...I got your back...you can count on me!"
The elite non-black organizations are not as smart as they claim to be. Look at our world to date and someone or group is risking his or her life for a black man--no matter the color, economic status, sexual orientation, religion, or gender. Don't believe me? Look at how many thus far have lost their freedom, inconvenienced their lives, and did more for a righteous cause related to a black man. Sure, it was for a cause but black men everywhere will still be affected. If the white power structure thought they were winning by killing yet another unarmed black man, they are mistaken! You might kill the flesh, but you can't kill the spirit!
The black woman is not in the limelight for any particular mind-blowing event these days for good reason, because she is too busy allowing herself to be presented as an entertainment whore! From reality shows to dancing on stage, just open wide so the world can see and experience your goods! If your too old to strut, you can always write or talk about all things nasty with your fellow cast members. Stick out your butt, black woman, and you just might land a romantic evening with a freak with a large bank account. Why not go a little further and encourage little girls to live your puppet dreams? Nevertheless, the lost black woman is affected by what is happening to black men whether she knows the men or not. She has been traumatized yet again especially if there has been violence in her own family. She is forced to work harder, play harder, make that money...you know all the rest because chances are you or someone you know is going through right now. Just as her enslaved ancestors, the black woman is forced to watch someone that looks like her cousin, brother, uncle, or some other male relative go off, fight, be abused, and eventually die. A mother will see her son in all the chaos and grieve for the mother who lost her's. She becomes angry at the parent who wasn't around, the child who was at the wrong place at the wrong time, the peers who didn't have her child's back, the community who could care less, and the authority figures who intend to make some money off her child. But even in her weakness, she too is strong!
Once again an elitist power structure has got it all wrong, coming after the wrong people with the wrong plan. They forgot we still have soldiers fighting spiritual wars not everyone is distracted by tomfoolery and not everyone is hoodwinked either! From infiltrating music to polluting the media with negative imagery of the worst black folks (fools, ignorant, mentally handicapped, on drugs, etc. as if there are no non-blacks that aren't crazy and ghetto), demonic forces are at work again to mentally and physically enslave the spiritual black family--we aren't talking about just any group. By using demonic oppression, traumatic images, and shocking events, the hope is to debilitate the thinking mind. You are doing too well some of you talented, educated, and rich black folks, you knew the haters would work hard to slow your roll and many are falling for it!
The black male is lured into relationships and business partnerships he can't manage, own or control. He is told to pay attention to everything that is wrong with the black woman and call her crazy, stupid, strange, etc. He is convinced he is slicker, smarter, wiser, and more by enablers who are simply using him in the meantime for selfish gain. But let us not get so caught up in blackness that we are no earthly good, shall we?
The mistreatment of black men in front of the world is backfiring to some degree and it has little do with skin tone and a whole lot to do with economics. Businesses suffer, profits decline, and other community related issues and now someone is ready to get the actor off the stage. Sooner or later those that will be enlightened to wisdom will realize that not only is ethnicity and finances are under attack, but there is also a spiritual attack occurring as well so that men, who have been called to come up higher, will lose site of their roles in kingdom business as well as the Creator who called them to their assignments. Projects cost money, new infrastructures more money, rebuilding communities additional finance, and those who hate certain ethnicities prospering, don't want wealthy people building or rebuilding in communities they plan on overtaking. Self interest groups know that many American citizens are awaking. The manipulators know that "buying the best, most expensive, and biggest" type of brainwashing that has been occurring for decades is not working for the upcoming generations. Do you really think the young black man was called to do nothing more than play on fields, courts, and on the street while his earthly father plays servant, snitch or second fiddle to people from the board room to the White House? There are bigger things ahead for those willing to receive and walk in their callings.
Many black people, lacking in critical thinking skills, are so easily distracted by bright colors, shiny things, and devices that make noise that they can't see plots against them, they don't bother to create detailed plans, or study wise books. What better way then to weaken the black man then to put the brightest color skin tone in front of him with the longest hair wearing the brightest colors, but there is one catch, these eye-catchers don't have the brightest minds! Typically the puppet recruits the puppet and the master has them both!
The crème de la crème of their group (the wealthy, white establishment) will always be reserved for the elitists. Don't be mistaken! Sure, the rich non-blacks might convince some to eat from their tables, drink their drinks, have their women, and ride in their cars, but when the fun is over, there are taxes to pay and consequences for sin when you look at things from a spiritual perspective. You reap what you sow! Those that are non-black, privileged and book-smart, but unwise, don't see the matrix of events unfolding, because since birth they have been given much. So when they see blood stained pavement, a long history of abused and deceased black men, as well as cries from the people, it is shocking to their weak systems, "What can we do to help?"
These recent tragic events are drawing on the heartstrings of non-blacks making them more caring. Many will empathize not because a man is black, but due to the fact that he is a human being. A white racist's plan backfires when the white woman begins to care for the black man and his children. However, those looking to create a higher intellect through interracial mating simply shrug their shoulders while white red-necks and ghetto blacks, don't see the big picture. A picture that slowly but surely takes what once was, black man + black woman = black babies and mixes them all up to the point that a black mindset is no more; rather a colorless mindset with the capability to do great things, besides physical labor, emerges. This is a belief of those who want to create super human beings. No more ghetto, ignorance, rude attitudes, emotionalism, spirituality, slavery and poverty mentalities historically popular amongst many blacks is their hope. These are just some of the stereotypical things that some rich and poor black men run from while hoping that their next lover will be different than their last lover--a black woman.
Spiritual black people are a threat to any group! Troublesome blacks are worse and many want them swiftly put in graves. Black fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers just didn't learn valuable lessons or practiced what they learned from the wise when it came to marriage, parenting, religion, business, protest, buying and selling property, etc. Therefore, ill-informed sons lie in graves prematurely having repeated the lifestyles of "too busy to play" kind of dads or absentee fathers. These same workaholics, players, pimps, and hustlers outlive their sons and continue to preach a ghetto gospel with no Savior in view and no useful tools to fight spiritual warfare.
You play with fire, you will get burned! In and out of the church, in and out of someone's bed, in and out of an office, and in and out of traffic, there is no rest for a weary, backsliding, or lost soul. Some spiritual as well as unspiritual blacks play with pagan traditions knowing full well what they represent and take no stand. Meanwhile mistreating one another over things they don't understand. Then when one finds that the devil is real and it is time to pay up for compromises, the brother or sister will throw anyone under the bus for money, fame, position, and power. The mistreated will mistreat his or her own!
The true essence of biblical text hasn't changed, there are still many wise words left to piece the puzzle together between an angry God and a flawed man--no matter the skin tone. But those who think they can disrespect a man, who doesn't want any trouble--minding his own business, especially a spiritual one, will reap what they have sown! This nation doesn't experience much heartache for nothing, too much playing in other people's backyards (bullying others) will get many hurt. Some have said the un-justice, the protesting, the shootings are all happening to prepare us for the fall of our American government leadership. I can't say, but what I will say is there is indeed an unseen war--one that is worth praying about. Consider orchestrating a plan just in case something unbelievable does go down in the coming months; rather than react in the way that "they" will expect you to act when they take out one of their own in any group, from entertainment to government.
Take note of your actions, consider the mistreatment of the black man lately. Will you curse at him, yell, abuse, or use your brother? Notice the times he has done these things to you. The push to get him out of any group, household, or elsewhere becomes great depending on the offenses. The victim has a choice he can walk away, put up a fight, self-destruct, or find greener pasture. Whatever your experience has been with a black man, you know what you did or didn't do to help drive him to that choice.
I caution readers to avoid the pity party during this tough time for our black brothers and also keep away from the temptation to enable them just because you feel threatened by them or worry about what they might do to you. Black men are under trial, not for what they did, but what they don't do. A black man's pride has cost him marriages, children, money, position, car, real estate, friends, and more. When it is all said and done, this less than human status by racists will give many people the strength to come back to their rightful places. What a black man didn't learn from those who marched before him, he will learn from viewing his fallen brother out in the middle of the street.

Educated, Opinionated, Prideful Black Person No Good Relationship, Unsatisfactory Job
"Your mouth will get you in trouble," growing up I heard this from adults who didn't mind whippin' a few behinds while cursing others to the point where a back-bone was non-existent. These "old school" blacks frequently didn't take their own advice. When I didn't like something, didn't want to go somewhere, or just felt irritable, I spoke up to parents and other relatives--sometimes with good reason and other times not so much. Parents aren't meant to be a teenager's best friend and they definitely aren't always interested in what their children have to say (especially if just the other day the rebellious, loud mouth teen back-talked one too many times.) I say these things, because the same holds true with bosses and employees. No one likes or wants to keep the opinionated, "I just had to tell the truth...tell him off" type around--no one! Oh sure, the listener will smile in your face for a time, share a secret or two, invite you out for a bite to eat, or even say a few nice things about you and your opinions, but he or she will always remember the way you made them feel "...that day when you said..." Some seemingly nice people may never mention an over-the-top past incident, but it is in their memory banks to be processed at a later date usually when you have angered them yet again.
I personally believe that many non-blacks won't take a chance with a certain type of educated African American, the type who voices strong opinions, because they fear that sooner or later the truth will come out and attack them. It's that cutting truth or feedback, that one, who thinks he or she is superior doesn't want to hear. If you can often agree, go along with some lies, flatter, make them laugh, and say and do other things that avoid any truth or controversial talk that magnifies their weaknesses, you most likely will be okay with many nonspiritual, educated non-blacks as well as blacks who feel quite comfortable being everyone else but black. The truth is that many of the soon-to-be old school, maturing African Americans aren't interested in keeping their mouths closed about too much of anything. Many once acted very much like non-blacks to get ahead, but now in retirement years--they don't care what white people think of them or anyone else for that matter. The know-it-all black person, who graduated from this school or that one or who has over 20 plus years in a certain industry, feels confident to speak up, speak out--say what he or she truly feels even to his or her own detriment.
Nowadays, the educated black isn't docile with his or her tongue like Aunt Tammy or Uncle Tom were back in their days. In the past, African Americans stepped aside when a white person passed, used separate facilities and settled and shopped in areas that were poor and lacked resources compared to whites and other ethnicities. The "good" black people did what they could to get along with their slave masters, whether on the field or in the house, for fear they would be killed by white-run organizations, burned out of their homes, churches, and businesses, left out on the streets homeless, raped, etc.
Blacks who have been given much, since the days of the Civil Rights Movement, feel that they have earned a right to talk to non-black men and women who hold their purse strings just like any other group. Meanwhile, forgetting that the African American community doesn't have a very honest, reputable, or friendly reputation with many ethnicities from around the world--thanks to American white racism in addition to troubled blacks who could care less about the reputation and representation of the black community.
An African American male or woman may get away with offensive talking and/or joking with a non-black for a time, like at a workplace, but sooner or later all that ignorant talking, blowing up, stupid story-telling, and name-calling catches up with him or her. As much as some of our people would love to say, "It wasn't my mouth that got me in trouble, but my skin tone, my co-worker, the boss..." the truth is, it was all of the above! Jenny wasn't really the friend you thought after you said what you said. Bill really didn't have your back like you thought after you did what you did. The group would have continued to forget you were a black woman or black man until you raised your voice and rolled your eyes. But the educated, prideful African American will yell, "Other people said the same thing and nothing happened...other people did the same thing and the reaction was cool, why me?" Because you aren't "other people" child of God, black person, truth-teller, woman, man--you have a lot of strikes against you! If you knew your worth, had you opened yourself up to wise counsel, read work to better you mentally and physically, maybe just maybe, you would have planned better for the future!
The braggadocios, educated, articulate speaking African American thinks he or she is invincible everywhere! From the board room to the bedroom, "I'm not worried, I will have my job... My woman loves me, she will always be there...!" Keep dreaming! Consider this blog entry a warning if you have been repeatedly getting into trouble because you can't seem to put your foot in your mouth when you should!
Some of our people believe that as long as they are friendly and funny, these individuals are in with a leader, a group, a family etc.! Not necessarily. As mentioned many times in this blog, racism is still very much in existence. Maybe a lover might not be a racist, but what about the extended relatives? Maybe a boss may appear to like your type, but what about his assistants? It would make sense to protect yourself from any potential racial bias by noting dates and times you felt uneasy about a situation or something said at a workplace, before mouthing off at your enemy. One in a challenging interracial relationship would want to think about saving money and putting a halt on joint investments in case the relationship takes an ugly turn rather than emotionally abusing a lover.
Systematically the boss, who doesn't forgive easily, will look for opportunities to let an employee repeatedly fail until he or she has to leave the group by force or voluntarily. A team that is disgruntled with an opinionated worker will build a solid case against the "smart mouth" and hope that in the future he or she will learn a lesson or two. If you are spiritual, you just might have experienced such a thing with your powerful Creator. Even God grows weary of warning and bailing out troubled individuals who are often in some kind of mess!
Some of you may have come across a few difficult people in your lives that just didn't seem to get a break from drama, because they didn't know how to say anything meaningful, kind or compassionate to keep love alive or keep a job. Often mouthing off, usually at the wrong times, the prideful person has a loveless personal life, an unfulfilling job, and a tormented soul that is never truly happy.
Relationships, running a business, raising a family, and more are challenging, but we have a choice to fight the challenges or embrace them. Many black folks tend to look for the fight rather than the solution to their mounting burdens. The argumentative type may win a war with words for the moment, but he or she loses out in the long run everything he or she holds near and dear. Don't pity Sue, Sam, or Paul when a job is no more. Don't offer your condolences when one loses his or her on again off again friend/foe, chances are the angry loved one helped put his relative or friend in the ground prematurely with all his or her mouthing.
One thing I am learning in my life's journey is that you can't truly be happy with anyone or anything if you can't get it together on the inside above everything else--you have to stop the chatterbox in your head sometimes--not everything is meant to be said!
If all you see in people, places and things are the problems and are quick to say so, yet slow on giving the solutions, then don't wonder why folks look for ways to kick you (or someone you know) out of the club, the marriage, the job, and elsewhere.
Just something to think about.

African American Entrepreneurs Why Some of Us Won't Do Business With Us
Over the past 15 years I have given both my money and service on and off to both african american men and women entrepreneurs and the results are in...I understand why a black woman I once knew said, "I'm sorry but I don't do business with our people." When she told me this, I had to catch myself from acting ghetto, "What?! You are a black person you know the struggle. Why would you even put your mouth to say that! Its because of people like you...do you know you wouldn't even be walking down the street with a white man if it wasn't for black people demanding equality! That's what's wrong with our people we don't support one another!" That was then, but this is now, I understand my sister why you said what you did.
Disappointment after disappointment, some NOT All of our people just don't have it together. I wanted to believe in these black entrepreneurs I dealt with in the past, honestly that's why I went to them in the first place. But there is always some fine print somewhere when dealing with some of these black entrepreneurs that lasks professionalism. Here's one example, "I can't pay any of my employees until next month." It was bad enough we were already getting paid once a month. Another black entrepreneur I worked for, "You m*therf*ckers better get it together or I am going to get rid of all of you," this was said to two men who the boss made his friends rather than his co-workers and he wondered why they slacked off. A childhood friend connection, "I'm sorry I forgot to send you what you asked for oh by the way don't do this...oh and don't do that..." If I would have known all the don't dos and the absentmindness before I spent far too much money, I would have never bought the product from this person in the first place! But when I dealt with the white business people they spelled everything out in advance and their prices were actually more affordable. A person who I didn't personally know makes an announcement one day on a social networking site, "I am planning a reunion event and I need everyone to send money," Uh, who are you? Do I know you? Who, what, when, where, why...that's what I was thinking when I dealt with this organizer. Then when I asked her questions she jumped out of her professional suit and became the angry black woman, "I am going to do this event and you are just jealous and blah, blah, blah!" Jealousy has nothing to do with asking you who you are, where is my money going and do I get a receipt! Here's one more situation involving an old mentor of mine, "I have been waiting for hours for you, when are you going to get my project done...I can't look bad, I am a professional." The sad part to this example I was the guilty one some years ago because I learned from the best laid back, "I don't care, take all day to do anything" type of black folks. Luckily, I matured and got mentors who dare I say it wasn't black and learned under them for a number of years only to come back to our people to get what I described previously. Needless to say, if I detect my brother or sister doesn't have their "stuff" together, I am taking my business elsewhere.

Greasy Foods - The Holy Grail Of African American Diet
I do not know about you, but when I was growing up, my mom cooked fried chicken (no, not oven "fried" chicken, we are talking about southern deep fried chicken), macaroni and cheese topped with tons of butter and mounds of cheese, collard greens cooked in chicken fat, hot buttered biscuits and brown gravy for dinner - at least twice a week.
Yes, I know you are salivating right about now. Here is another past time favorite to which I am sure you can relate - deep fried catfish, red beans and rice soaked in oil, candied yams with tons of butter, sugar, and cinnamon and deep fried pork chops.
I can relate. I grew up in a family of 9 where food portions were humongous. I mean we are talking about a 9-year-old whose plate was filled to the edges that was even too much for an adult! Years later, with the same poor dietary habits intact, I ballooned up to 213 pounds!
My Food History Repeated Itself
So there I was 20 years later weighing 185 pounds. I thought I could control it. The smallest I had ever been was 140 pounds. But my weight went up and down my whole life. Finally, I crossed the line where I could not stop eating. I was addicted to fried foods, white flour and sugar, but I did not know that until 3 more years of food agony and an additional weight gain of 18 pounds.
My Health Deteriorated
I come from a long line of strokes, heart attacks, diabetes and high blood pressure. At age 29, severely overweight and a heavy smoker, I was headed down the same path as my ancestors.
My Aha Moment
There was a voice inside me that said, "Shalisha, you are lost when it comes to food. Get help." I did. I was introduced to a food plan that was abundant, healthy, delicious, and made me lose 90 pounds in 6 months. This was no diet. It was a lifestyle change. So here are the top 5 reasons I think the African American diet is in dire need of an overhaul:
1.The African American diet is extremely high in fat
2.The African American diet is extremely high in sugar
3.The African American diet lacks fruit
4.The African American diet lacks vegetables
5.The African American diet is extremely high in sodium
If you want to start eating healthy and lose weight:
1.Stop deep frying and start broiling
2.Cut out sugar and white flour
3.Include at least 5 servings of vegetables daily
4.Include at least 3 servings of fruit daily
5.Drink plenty of water (8-12 cups)
6.Take the salt shaker off the table
One more thing - dare to be different! Demand that your neighborhood Key Food supermarket carry Fage Fat-Free Greek Yogurt. Demand that your friendly neighborhood Met Food supermarket carry organic fruits and vegetables.
All it takes is one person to lead the way. Be a power of example and show other African Americans in the community that it is not only okay to eat healthy - it is a matter of life and death. By making those 6 small dietary adjustments, you will go a long way to improving your health and losing weight.
