Enslaved to Fame, Fortune, Power - Celebrity Madness Commentary
Why do we bother watching documentaries, music videos, reading writings, observing their art, or even wishing to connect with a favorite celebrity who fell off course? Their objective may have once been the following: to uplift the people, promote beneficial ideas to encourage thinking/creativity/change, empower people economically, heal the wounded soul, etc. But did they really do what they promised? Maybe at first, but not anymore!
Many of you know what your beloved singer, dancer, rapper, actor, athlete, producer, or comedian said publicly that drew you into their matrix. He or she was thought-provoking, motivating, and spoke to your very soul especially during weak times in your life. But something happened along the way, didn't it? Darkness fell upon him or her, their eyes dead and fervor for positively motivating others died too!
Strategically our favorite celebrities were broken down from the inside out by those they trusted as well as themselves. Evil people don't like those of us who speak truth while shedding the light on their broken systems, lifestyles, philosophies, and more! Some of you didn't see the breakdown coming with celebrities over days, months, or even decades! You refused to see how ensnared they were by their drugs and alcohol consumption. Rather you popped bottles and pills too, made it rain at the clubs, acquired much debt, and escaped your misery by doing whatever they did next! You didn't want to believe that a man or woman who spoke so intelligently, could be so stupid! Nope, see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil of an individual who is obviously evil! We all at one point or another fed into the lies--wanting so much to believe that these false prophets in the world really meant well. Maybe initially but as we see in their documentaries it all changed when pride, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, greed, and more permeated their minds and then their hearts!
It doesn't matter how big the name or bank account or how attractive, our Creator shows us the fools! He tells us that we shouldn't listen to the false prophet or god! He or she sits with interviewers whether with sunglasses or without and gives a great performance persuading you how enlightened he or she is and what one's "art" means and how they are helping others. Then once the camera and lights are shut off, they go back to dealing with the demons that have him or her enslaved personally and/or professionally. Cheating on spouses, addictions, chronic pain, sexual disease, mental illness, theft, murder, etc.--you name it! You are led like pigs going to the slaughter without a care of how what they say or do might impact you and your family. You buy whatever evildoers sell, because it tickles your ears!
There is indeed a selling of one's soul to the devil whether you choose to believe it or not! It's not conspiracy or cliché contrary to what professional puppeteers say to discredit the truth! The puppet master behind the puppet loves to boast just how free one is creatively, but that isn't the truth! The chains, cages, tattoos, tears and fears expose just how enslaved they really are! If one is so-called free, then that one isn't a superstar yet, give it some time he or she will be emotionally and physically bound one day just like his brothers and sisters in the industry!
The celebrity madness, nervous breakdowns, and repeated visits to "rehab" that we see and read about isn't happenstance. The so-called A-listers are getting older and bolder and some are breaking down just like anyone or thing that has been used over and over again! These people begin to share more of what's on their mind and in their souls. It is quite disturbing to discover just how deep the rabbit hole goes with some of them. Whatever they were willing to do for a dollar when they were younger, they aren't so much willing when they are older. Washed up in every way, they either fade out the limelight quietly or they are persuaded to return "your fans miss you" and if they don't reach monetary goals, there is always a life insurance policy on them that will cover losses when they die.
Oh yes, this is what it has looked like for decades for the ones enslaved to fame, fortune and power: make a grandiose return, perform, then die. They just can't go away from the glitz and glam in peace. They can't sit back and relax long enough to think, "What the f*ck have I done to these people who have followed me and what have I done with my life!"
Oh yes, they surely shared some interesting thoughts that empowered us; however, they failed to take their own advice. Unfortunately, we will see more and more popular celebrities fall on their own swords in the coming years. God don't like ugly! Should have confessed sin and repented.

On Venting About Your Own Ethnicity
"What goes on at home, stays at home," some of you reading this remember what your parents told you, and you went running off the mouth anyway. "I don't care what they said," the rebellious teen exclaims. "Daddy just don't want me to say nothing because he knows what he's been doing...Mama just don't want grandma to know because she won't give her anything." Oh, don't we remember the things our parents and grandparents told us to keep silent about when it comes to what goes on at home. "This is my house...and until you pay the bills, you don't have sh*t to say!" A beaten down disgruntled teen often told to, "Stay in a child's place" grows up to be a big mouth adult venting about everyone including his own people. (I'm a witness!)
I've heard black celebrity entertainers in mainstream media mouthing off about one another's projects and negatively labeling this one and that one's work (as if there is a whole lot of black people running the entertainment industries, yeah right!?) I understand we live in a world of free speech, but some things are better left unsaid and if you must say it, do it behind closed doors. But what do our people do especially when they become successful, they tell the world everything about us including how much they don't like someone. They run off the mouth about what happened in the past, the present and go so far as to predict someone else's future. To make matters worse, they hate on one another right before non-blacks.
These "other" races like that "kind of carrying on" (I borrowed that line from my grandma) which means drama, hoopla, and/or craziness. As long as you aren't talking about them negatively, they are okay with you. So how does the sell-out black reaffirm his allegiance to the man? He not only vents, but he shares personal information about his own people specifically tailored to get someone demoted, fired, scandalized or anything else that affects his paper!
Go ahead, talk about your people with "them." Laugh it up. "Well you know blacks can be a bit emotional...sensitive...my friend is ghetto..." Does it make you feel good especially when they start feeling comfortable around you to add their two cents worth? It's funny because these same people who are moving up the ladder on the backs of "us" and "they" will come back around needing us when non-blacks no longer see that money rolling in like they once did.
Whether you are working amongst non-blacks in a small community or in corporate America, when you show that you don't have any allegiance to anyone, people will be more likely to befriend you even blacks who don't particularly like their own people too. They know that you are not a threat, you are "so-called" fair. There's nothing wrong with being fair as long as you are consistent. But when you are deliberately siding with non-blacks to win favor with them by talking about your own people, you have issues and you don't need a psychologist to tell you that usually there are other actions that some will do that tell the world, "I don't do my people." However, deep inside the heart of any black person that has been slighted by someone of another race, you have to know that some things just can't be said about you or those around you who are black. You have to realize that rebuking your brother before an audience of non-blacks is going to backfire sooner or later.
It's funny because the same people who don't want you to favor your own people, will question your loyalty, compassion, and other things that make up the human spirit. Behind closed doors they are talking to their friends saying, "Can we even trust this guy? I mean listen to how he speaks about his own people."
Some of the most dangerous blacks aren't the ones who carry a pistol around, but the ones who can cut a fellow brother or sister without blinking with their words. Then leave him or her bleeding to death while cashing in on his or her demise (that's cold.) But I tell you, I have seen some well-to-do blacks do just that with mere words and I don't trust them like I would my poor sister or brother in Christ. There has to be some degree of balance when dealing with an evil brother or sister and it doesn't have to be out on the street for all to see.

Fourteen million dollar man
bought
grew up tall
gifted to play ball.
Little black male
up for sell!
Want to be like Kobe
while daddy's name is "show me."
No dreams to become a lawyer, a doctor,
a teacher, or a preacher.
Rather hold up his han' and give praise to a man.
And you would too if you were worth
14 mil, but you got a penny left on a window sill.
Got dreams resting on your child
research filed
thinking about what if
while rubbing a back that's stiff.
Society is hungry, angry, and weary
your eyes are going to be left teary.
Because there is only one MJ
and he lived that day.
If only every million dollar man and woman
wasn't so concerned about a fan
change would be evident
and we would represent.
But society went wrong
when the doorbell rang, "ding dong"
and demanded too much
now we're in a crutch.

Still Honoring the Deceased But What Are We Doing Now?
I mean no disrespect to Martin Luther King and his dream, but where are the modern day dreamers? Where are the movers and shakers who are still fighting for civil rights (and I am not talking about political puppets either?)
Every year it is ingrained in our heads about a legend who organized a march that changed the way many Americans thought about the black man. However, who is leading the march nowadays to update one's thinking about black Americans?
It seems that most people who are moving and shaking the black community presently are in the entertainment industry. If they aren't dancing around like the man who calls himself a General (never served in the military mind you) on American Idol, they are holding up pyramids in media interviews like Jay-Z. However, I must applaud the General on his silly act it is motivating some young men "who are looking like fools with their pants on the ground" to do something different especially when people start singing that song every time they see one!
I don't know about you, but just as some whites are tired of hearing about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and the Kennedys, I am tired of hearing about Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. Anyone black who has been prejudged, knows that discrimination still exists, and as long as the message "separate and not equal" is sprinkled here there and everywhere it will always exist! We see this everytime someone comes out with some poll or study to make a difference between the black, white, hispanic, and asian communities. HOWEVER...
In time the old Negro leaders will have to take a backseat (so to speak) so that we can see our present and future a little more clearly. I know about looking back on history to prepare for tomorrow, but some people have been in black history so long that they can't see what is happening now! Some black folks are so far in time that they still can't look a white man in his eyes!
What worked yesterday isn't necessarily going to work today. Maybe its time for an Internet march of some sort? Maybe its time for a strike on overpriced, overhyped stores both on and offline (and if there is even a hint of discrimination drop them -- no black magazines drop them, no black music drop them, no black anything drop them!) Maybe its time to quit telling young people to go to colleges they can't afford. I'm sure you can think of a few who had no business going to college and no support to pay the loans and now their credit is ruin, their income tax refund is non-existant and their wages are being garnished. Maybe its time to stop giving your hard-earned money to churches who aren't doing anything for the community or YOU. Oh we reason we are giving to God, but which one: god or the one true God? Here's a clue that you aren't giving to the right God when you are still spiritually and materially struggling with the same issues year after year! Maybe its time for African Americans to stop buying cds, dvds, and watching and listening to other media that insist on portraying immoral, evil images and endorsing evil products. Maybe its time to close credit cards and bank accounts that keep sucking your finances dry of overdraft fees, over limit fees, and any other fees they keep coming up with!
