Patti LaBelle Tickets - After Four Decades, the Bluebelle is Still Touring

Around since the 1960s, soul singer Patti LaBelle hasn't slowed down. Currently touring in support of Live in Washington D.C. while also making guest appearances during special concert events and awards shows (including the recent 3rd Annual BET Honors held in Washington DC's Warner Theater on Jan. 16, 2010), Ms. LaBelle remains a top R&B act.
Have you remained a fan of this sultry urbanite for years? If so, pick up Patti LaBelle tickets today as she travels through North America visiting venues in Windsor, ON; Brooklyn, N.Y.; Inglewood, N.J.; Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Los Angeles, Calif.; New York City; Waterbury, Conn. and many more through June.

With over four decades in the business, LaBelle still knows how to shine. Apart from the glittery bling that she loves to don while appearing in shows, this one time group leader has shined just like the stars since Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. Born in 1944 in Philadelphia, LaBelle (born Patricia Holt) was a choir singing girl from the start who joined friend Cindy Birdsong in 1960 in what would become the Blue Belles (with the addition of Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash). Their Top Twenty hits "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman," "Danny Boy" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" led Patti to stand out, and as the girls signed to Atlantic the group was renamed Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles.

When Birdsong left for the Supremes, the group turned to Brit manager Vicki Wickham and a funk sound that started with the name change of merely "LaBelle." The group once again saw a resurgence when they toured with the Who and appeared at New York's Metropolitan Opera House (the first African American act to do so) when they blasted audiences with the hit "Lady Marmalade."

It was following 1976's Chameleon that LaBelle went on to pursue a solo career, producing 1997's Patti LaBelle and 1979's It's Alright with Me. Next came work by a plethora of recording companies, including the '80s Philadelphia International release I'm in Love Again, 1986's MCA The Winner in You (featuring the Michael McDonald duet "On My Own"), 1989's Be Yourself, 1991's Grammy Award-winning Burnin' and When a Woman Loves. "If you're feeling what you're doing, if you have that soul, spirit and motivation, you can do anything. As for me, I'm ready for greatness - I am ready for the world," she says on her website.

She continued to record into the '00s with the Def Jam's 2004 release Timeless Journey and 2005's Classic Moments. "I'm always moving and trying to discover something new to entice me," LaBelle says on her website in regards to the 2004's album title. "I'm always going to be on a journey and I can only hope with my new discoveries that I will always be able to please my fans." LaBelle even ventured into acting during her solo career when she starred in the 1982 Broadway revival Your Arms Too Short to Box with God.
